The Coxsackie-Athens Community Band was organized in 1973 by then Superintendent of the Coxsackie-Athens Central School District, S.C. DeLucia, who plays Tuba in the Band. An outgrowth of the High School Band, it developed into a marching band and then into a concert band. The personnel of the band is made up of high school students, professional musicians, non-professionals and retirees. Anyone interested in joining the band may contact the Director at the email address below.
The Community Band rehearses every Wednesday evening during the school year at 7:30 in the Coxsackie-Athens High School Band Room. Performances are scheduled throughout the school year with most of the concerts held at Christmas time and in the Spring.
